About

My Story

Eden grew up in Auckland, New Zealand and was exposed to music from an early age. His father, a saxophonist in his younger years, who played in bars with his flatmate Manfred Mann, was a lover of all things jazz, and as such the sounds of the greats: from Charlie Parker to Ornette Coleman; Miles Davis to John Coltrane were always on the record player.

One of Eden's fondest memories was when his father gave him five records: Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Pet Sounds, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and a best of Bob Marley. These iconic sounds have forever influenced his approach to music and live performance.

Eden is a natural performer, and clown, and loves to be front of an audience. He believes that entertainment is fundamental to performance and connecting with an audience - something that has also influenced his teaching style.

With over 20 years in the music industry, Eden has collaborated with hundreds of artists, bands and projects from all over the world, and feels immensely privileged to see this list of collaborations grow.

Two of Eden's brothers are also successful musicians. Matthew, the elder of the three is one of the most in demand session saxophonist in Australia and is based in Sydney. Aron, a pianist and Blue Note recording artist, has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music from Europe and West Africa.
